So I have a 26' reinell that I have been restoring. It is a cabin cruiser with fly bridge. I have dual helms that are running big-t Teleflex steering setup. the problem I have is the upper wheel spins freely have taken the upper helm apart to look at the teeth and the cable to see what failed and well... there was no cable. The gears in both helms look good, not having anything to compare to, don't seem to be excessively worn. This leads me to my questions. Most everything I can find cable wise seems to be aimed at single helm setups.
A. Use the helms I got. (this would be preferable)
Where can I get a replacement cable? I will have measurements tomorrow but cant seem to find anywhere that sells SSC81 cable
B. Replace all with new dual helm cable setup
Where can I find one?
I want to stick with cable setups as I have twin merc 165's with power steering assist. I don't mean to sound dumb but I have been googleing for hours now and im to the point I want to smash my head in a door because I can find random bits of info on the setups but no where that actually says they sell them.
