dual props?

what is the purpose of the dual prop setup? the ones i see on boats have either a 3 or 4 blade setup with opposite pitches.

For one they give better bite into the water and mainly the counter the torque a prop normaly has. Thats why torpedos had dual counter rotating props so the the torpedo goes straight instead of turning. You will notice that the dual props do not have the trim tab on the lower unit.
