i Have a 19ft 1979 fibre galss open bow boat,Just got a 1985 force 125 giving to me free.Installed on my boat not sure what it came off of,but the boat won't plane and it seems it is bogging at high rpms.Is this due to the prop or the pitch of it ,the prop looks in good shape and I'm out of ideas. The motor runs great but by switching motors does a pitch or prop size make that much of a differnece. The boat wont plane and only goes like 17mph.Any help or ideas?

Somwhere, stamped on your propeller will be some numbers... usually the diameter and pitch. Finding those provides a place to start.

Free engine that was laying around somewhere?
There could be issues lurking in it too... may not be making full power at higher rpm.

There are no dumb questions.I think you need to check out the motor first.and like A said there should be some numbers on the prop.but unless your totally way over proped i think you got some motor issues.
