Duo Prop Conversion

Is it possible, and if so, what do I need to know about adding a dual prop to replace the single that came with my boat?

It could be possible...
But we have absolutely no idea what you have for an outdrive on your boat. A make, model, year, and serial number will help...

Just to be sure we're on the same page, you do realize to have a duo-prop you need to have a duo prop lower unit (not as simple as bolting two props on a single prop LU), right?

Assuming you have a leg that is a any easy change, a wild guess on my part (I know nothing)
would be $5,000 and probably would require used parts at that.If you check the prop section I think you'll see that matched prop sets are hard to find and expensive and over and above on the cost.While a duo prop does provide lots of improvement
a careful prop selection could provide excellent performance for 1 tenth the cost.

Thanks for the help everyone and advice. I did more reading in the prop section and found out there is quite a bit to this issue. Being new, no kidding eh?, it is great to have forums like these to help out. I think I get the jist of this now. If the boat I end up buying doesn't have a duo prop, then let it be and just make sure the prop that is on it is the appropriate one for what I want it to do.
