The Duo prop wil provide better bite out of the hole and less cavitation when cornering. It would depend on what you plan on doing with the boat... if you are pulling skiers and driving really agressivly, then go with the duo prop.. it would likely be significantly more money however...

I think you will find that they are basically 'more efficient' - around 10-20% depending on the modle and comparision
you get - better acceleration, better gas mileage and better top end.
For a single engine set up they remove all the pressure on un trimmed steering too - which means you can trim to the conditions without wearing out your arms! Downside is you can't feel the right trim so easily but that's v v minor - generally you trim them less anyway.
Main downside - you pay more money.
Simple eh?
Oh and they are way cooler!

Yes they cost more but with the price of fuel today how long before you pay for the difference in fuel savings. Do you think in 5 years fuel will be cheaper, I do not.

I would say if you plan to keep the boat a long time and will not ever let your self run aground get the dual prop. If only going to have this boat a year or two or are prone to bending props get the single.

Re: duoprop vs reg. prop

i've got no experience with dp, but i read that they are much better for backing up, as the counter rotateing props cancel out each other. also easier steering as said above, same reason, counter rotating props. all i do know is that with a single prop, backing up is a slide one way, and a tight turn the other depending on prop rotation. single prop when going forward is easy to turn one way, hard to turn the other. your fighting the rotation of the prop, dp would cure that. from what i read. + they do look too cool,,,,

Thanks for the help guys. Since the prop comes with leg I think I'll go for the duo.If it improves fuel economy it would be a bonus, because that problem isn't going away.Sounds like it should help low speed manouverability alot too. Thanks again.

Re: duoprop vs reg. prop

I was thinking of my own situation, I have an SX and carry a spare prop. I would probably like to do so with the DP as well. There are some special tools required to change DP props. I don't know if you can change them with readily available tools. Maybe someone who knows will reply.

Greg
