DVR question

I've got one of those Time Warner DVR's. My question is this, if I unhook it and move it to another location, will the material that is recorded be saved and can be used?<br /><br />We have a DVD on the boat but this year I thought it would be cool to record movies on the DVR and then just take it to the boat. Just not sure if it is going to work without a cable input.<br /><br />Any thoughts,,,??? ..........Thanks......SS

They use a hard drive just as a computer does, so yes you can move it and use it.
