Apples and Oranges. I want to see FAIR comparisons. Match Etec, Opti, and HPDI and leave the four strokes out of it. The other manufacturers are equally guilty. Until I see that, it's all just marketing propaganda.

I saw the first video on the www.evinrude.com website. It loaded quicker and played better. But the second one is impressive in that 4-strokes are considered as torquier at low RPMs. Kiss one Yamaha F150 powerhead goodbye. ;)

It's just like pickup truck ads where they drive up a pile of concrete blocks or pull a semi trailer or play tug-o-war or whatever. Fun to watch but silly.
Someone should put them on a dyno and publish RPM/Horsepower/Torque curves. Then do some longevity tests - run 'em for a week straight under load and mic the parts. Run 'em intermittantly in salt brine for a month and see how well they hold off corrosion. Loan 'em to my idiot buddy Tom for an afternoon and see if they still run when he brings 'em back.
