I've got a 96' Evinrude that will fire up on the first turn of the key one minute and with out being used the next time may or may not have spark. Last Wednesday i recorded the linked video. The motor fired right up just fine. Yesterday, I had a buyer drive down 4.5 hours to buy boat with a certified check in hand and my motor would NOT start. Simple as that. I spend all day confirming connections etc... never got the spark back. Yes, I confirmed all the cutoff switches in the process. I have two known good Power Packs and also two known good Timer Bases. The flywheel and magnets look great.

It is normal for a stator o go bad and intermittently act like this?

Anyy part in the ignition system can do it. But power packs are the worst offenders.

I have removed my spark plugs to allow the motor to spin faster. Now, I have spark on 4 of the 6. #3 and #4 are not getting spark. So, I think the power pack is fine.

See if it has spark on #3 and 4 when running..if so pack good. You post describes a failing timer base or weak starter.
