Eagle 502 elite lockup

I just got a used Eagle Fishelite 502 GPS/Fishfinder. It locks up after 30 min. I have tried software update, resets etc. Lowrance just wants to replace for an upgraded unit, offered a great deal but I don't want to spend the money. Anybody have any ideas?

Maybe that's why the previous owner got rid of it? Unfixable circuitry problem?
