Hi Everyone,

I'm working on restoring the inside of my 1970's aluminum 16' Lund, giving it new paint on the inside, new wood/carpet on the benches and adding swivel seats. I tried the product "aircraft remover" paint stripper, brushed a coat on the inside of the boat. Let it sit overnight, and took a 3000 PSI pressure washer to it. Got rid of a good chunk of the paint, but not everything.

Any tips on a more effective product? I've heard Easy Off heavy duty works very well at boiling off the paint, allowing you to pressure wash it clean. Thanks!

you dont let it sit overnight. the stripper takes 20 minutes max. letting it sit overnight, the paint re-hardened

aircraft is one of the best, dont let it dry out use a wire brush first to break the surface of the paint before spreading the stripper i found helps also also there is a attachment for a pressure washer that lets you sandblast using regular sand since its went you dont have to worrry about silica getting in lungs , made by mtm works great with 4k psi washer but id be careful on a aluminum boat, nice part about water blasting is its nowhere near as agressive or warping as dry.

Thanks Everyone! Yes, I reapplied some aircraft remover, let it sit only 20 minutes, and just went at it with a wire brush. Seems to be very effective. Going to get the shop vac in there to remove most all of the loose paint chips, etc. Go at it with one more coat of aircraft remover and wire brush, cleanup again with the shop vac, and then take a sander with 50 grit sand paper to it.
