easy release of tilt and trim ???

I am trying to pull boat out of water, elec goes out and motor in down position. motor has a longer fin on bottom underneath propeller. it will drag and rip everything. How do we release tilt and trim to manually lift motor?? 125 hp force. 1987

OK, sit down and take a deep breath.<br />I don't think there is a manual release valve on that model.<br /><br />You will likely have to remove 1 or 2 hydrolic lines from the pump assembly.<br />Then raise the motor by hand and brace it in place with a 2x4 or other suitable object that can be secured in place.<br /><br />Sorry to bring you the bad news.<br /><br />Someone will correct me if I am wrong, and I hope that I am.

Roscoe I think your right its a sucky design.<br /><br />I can get my tilt to work but the trim is messing things up for me. I have tried and tried to fix it but its still leaks down.

look at the bottom of the pump, mine has a white screw there. if i pull it loos it goes up by hand. Watch out for some spray though
