I bought a 2008 Tracker Tahoe 228 with a blown 5.7L motor. I had a reputable engine builder build me a new, high performance, 4 bolt main, from the block up, roller cam, vortec heads etc. Upon putting it all back together, I noticed the ECM is: 5.0L Bravo ECM 0501 - 8M2002289 - 865926( I attached a picture of it). Will this work since I saw a video of the boat running prior to the motor failing? Or what should I do to make it correct? New to this so All help appreciated!!

Since it's been often mentioned Mercruiser generally tends to set up the ECM factory calibrations a bit to the richer side of the fuel mapping curves, it's possible your engine may work with the original set ECM but without having someone that's either an professional ecm engine tuner or equipment to do it yourself, the odds are hard too judge.

Though seemingly costly should you have the ECM recalibrated, one option would be to talk to the marine guys out at Whipple superchargers as they ought to have a guide for your best results as they offer recalibration services.
