?96 Mercury 150 EFI that sat for way to long. Before attempting to start, I disassembled the VST. I looks worse than I could have imagined. The tank will clean up, but the fuel pump looks like something found in the bottom of a well! I did not turn the key before this, so not sure if the pump even runs yet. Do I replace the VST as an assembly, replaced just the fuel pump, is a rebuild kit available? Lots of questions, just wonder best way out.
Thanks,
Steve

Remove float, needle and cover seat and glass bead clean the vst. Test pump disconnected from ECU so you dont burn up driver circuit. If bad replace the pump and filter as a complete assy. Also check injectors as pintle's can stick and cause injector to flood or run lean.
