I have an OMC inboard outboard. The outboard is bad. I found another outboard that looks like it will mount up but it is Electric and mine is Cable Shift. Are they interchangeable?

Thanks for any help.

No ! ! You don't have the wiring to make it shift and it probably is impracticle to try to change over.

DHP

I'm in agreement with DHP. It will not interchange. What is the year and horsepower of your present engine?, and what color is the main large electrical plug connector which is located at the engine.... RED or BLACK?

It is a 1988, a 2.5 engine - we can't find the horsepower. And we could not locate the "main large electrical plug connector".. u said at the engine, but we didn't see it. any other hint on where that plug connector might be.
