Hi all...
I am totally baffled by this. Recently changed over a manual to electric start on my 18 fastwin. The person I got the starter from included an electric choke. I have tried numerous configerations to line this thing up, short of getting out my hacksaw!
Was the 67 evinrude ever designed to accomodate the electric choke? The manual choke that is on there now works fine. The choke bracket has two screws that attach to the side of the carburator and one that goes to the underside of the bowl. The linkage is not cooperating at all. If I have the bracket on, then the manual choke arm will not work because the new bracket causes it to sit over too far and will not line up with the original hole in the pan. The owner's manual stated there was an electric starter available but nothing about the electric choke. Should I just forget about it and leave it off, or does anyone have any suggestions or possibly a picture on a web site that would enable me to visualize how this thing mounts.
Thanks and happy motoring
