Electric shift and Throttle repower

Let's hear what your opinions are on electronic shift and throttle. I am going to repower my 31 Jupiter. Got Twin 225 Evinrude Fichts. I'm tired of the mechanical controls and am thinking about electronic shift and throttle when I do this thing. Verado sounds interesting but expensive. I have seen a teleflex system at last years Miami Boat show. Then I saw a Glendenning??<br />Is there a system that will make things easier. easier? Are they reliable. It seems cool on the surface but you never know. What happens if you lose battery power. How do you shift?<br />Can you guys help me out.

hello<br /> Morse and yamaha also have an electric shifter availible. it uses servos to move the cables. on your jupiter dont mount them aft in the bilge area. they wont tolerate the moisture.<br /> if your not running twin stations my advice would be to keep the OEM controls as long as they are factory not aftermarkets and enjoy life. when ya repower trade in the controls for new ones.

The system you saw at T-flex was the KE4 system developed by Morse Marine. T-flex inherited it after the buyout. As those systems go its pretty good. Simple to set up and there are manual over rides. <br /><br />The one thing I dont like about it that it is possible to shift slow. You have to be very deliberate but its possible. On other units no matter how slow you move the shift lever, there is a point that the shift cable pops in like it should. If you shift the KE4 as you normally would its no problem. Just something to be aware of. <br /><br />The overall operation is very smooth and precise. A very nice unit. There's also a remote control available.
