Hello everyone,
I own a 2004 Terry Quantum Fleetwood travel trailer. I am wondering if the baterry is dead or is not accepting a charge will it cause the electric slidout room to run slow and have a hard time retracting back in with the main 30 amp power being plugged in and operational? The battery is the original battery that came with the travel trailer when brought brand new. Thanks, Bob::confused:

If it's battery powered, it has to get several hundred amps. The charger probably puts out 30 or less. The remaining must come from the battery.

So the answer is yes.

Yuppers, you need to have that storage capacity in place in order to operate that slide out correctly, plugging it in with a dead battery the converter is not going to put out the amps required. That said, be very careful trying to do it without a good battery, the converter can supply variable power output and cause that slide out to jam, which can get real expensive to get fixed.
