Hi all ,
I recently installed a Tekonsha Prodigy brake controller onto my 91 full-size Bronco to make it easier for braking when towing my boat.
On the Bronco , its has the factory tow package and I bought the factory harness to get my 7 blade trailer connector , so my wiring is not all hacked into. The same is true on the controller side , it is all factory with no splicing.
The brake controller works awesome UNTIL I turn on my headlights , when I turn on my headlights the Brake light wire gets .11 volts which is enough for the Tekonsha to think that I am braking (brake lamps do not come on , unless actually braking) With the headlights off there is no voltage on that wire until the brakes are applied.
IDK how to remedy this, everything works perfect unless I am driving at night , then I have to disconnect the controller and just use my Bronco brakes
Has anyone seen this type of situation before ? any ideas on what I can check
