Electric wires in the carb, why??

On my 18 hp 1963 two green wires goes into the carb, in the other end connected to 2 red wires who is also connected to the stop-switch. What are the green wires to?? why do I get electrical shock when I press "STOP"??<br />Can anybody help me!!!

Hi Henning - sure a nice collection.<br /><br />Some of theese old gems have a vacuum switch, cutting off ignition to one cylinder to avoid the motor "running away" with rpms out of control. Maybee thats is. If the kill switch gives you schock, the insulation must be damaged, or if it is a type that should lead to ground, bad ground connection.
