Hello. I recently had a wiring issue "resolved" only to learn that I'm having the same issue. I turn on the battery and go to turn the key and get no power whatsoever. Then I move around some wires and make sure everything's more secure (not really knowing what I'm doing at all) and try again and the boat starts right up. This process has been repeated in the past couple of weeks and I don't want to bring it back in. Any suggestions as to what might be wrong, specifically? Thanks in advance--- jimmy

Hey

They are the wires under the steering/turn key ignition panel. I bought the boat last year and I was told by a friend the wiring of the boat was poor. I had a company "fix" it but obviously they didn't. Sometimes I'm getting full power and other times I don't get any power at all.

Would be good if stayed broke long enough to find what is breaking the connection. Have a good look at the ignition switch. Grab hold of each wire and move it around to see if the terminal lug moves or the wire that is inside the lug. Might even be a bad key switch.

Again, is this a Mercruiser, Volvo, OMC, chain saw

Ok that all sounds good. Thank you and I'll try that this weekend. SORRY-- it's a mercruiser! Not a chain saw haha
