Re: Electrical draw??

It could be as simple as a stereo with a memory. Best of luck. Rick.

Re: Electrical draw??

define little .....10 mA .... 200 mA that will tell you how many watts it is and help you guess at the cause

Re: Electrical draw??

Along with the radio mentioned above, moisture sensing bilge pump, some trolling motors like MG wireless, etc, can be drawing power. But, if all has been verified disconnected, then even a small draw could be a sign of a problem.

How are you currently measuring the draw? and the more details about your Tracker wiring, what battery (starter?), etc, the better we can help. Ultimatly, it will probably come down to isolating circuits and testing.

Re: Electrical draw??

Anything from a bad diode to corrosion on the positive battery terminal can cause a drain. How did you determine you had a drain and what was the actual draw?

Re: Electrical draw??

Thanks so much guys, The batteries are new and all connections are clean, but there is a wiring mess I need to straighten out. With everything off when I attach pos. lead to battery there is a pretty good spark. I need to take my meter out and see how much of a draw there is and start disconnecting things one at a time. I'll let you know what I find.
Thanks again for the help, Bill

+1

And saw in another thread that you have a lead on a Tracker wiring diagram. Invaluable for tracing out such issues.

If you get a momentary spark on connecting an onboard charger, it is probably normal. I get one with all of mine. It is probably just a cap discharging.

until you establish the extent of the load with everything turned off and get expert opinon it is a waste of time doing anything ...
