Hey guys at the end of the season I started having an electrical issue with my 26 foot pontoon. First realized it on a weekend when my fuse panel was dead and all my electronics didn't work. That day I took it out all day as the engine started and no engine issues were noted.. the next weekend I went to use the boat again and the engine or trim wouldn't even turn over. My gauges would go crazy and it would click when I tried to start it. I had the boat removed from the water for the season and I started checking the wires to see where my issue was thinking it was a bad ground as my battery was working properly. I located a severely corroded power red wire coming from my battery to the fuse panel.. I ran New 8ga wire from the battery to the fuse panel and power to all accessories was restored. I was only able to test the boat one time before I shrunkwrapped it for the season. The engine started on muffs and no issues were observed at that time out of the water. My question is the gauges and ignition not working confuses me. I didn't think the ignition and gauges was connected through the circuit panel. I'm wondering if I also have another issue that will surface at the beginning of the season or is it possible that the power going to the circuit panel which was corroded could of somehow caused the gauges and boat to not start.... appreciate the input as always

When you replaced the house power wire did you clean the battery terminals? You may have corrected your gauge and starting problem when you did that since the power for the gauges usually comes from the engine via the remote control. (purple ignition wire)

Ayuh,.... I guess you'll find out in the Spring, as of now, any reply will be nothin' but a Guess....

If ya found corroded wirin', that's Probably the issue....

Come spring, the Best thing ya can do is,...
Clean the battery terminals, 'n the wirin' connections to Clean Shiny Metal, 'n Try it...

Btw,.... a finger full of Grease slathered over the connections, will stop, or slow any further corrosion...
