Electrical Problem 1987 35 HP Merc

I am only getting spark to one cylinder. <br />I switched the coils and still have the problem.<br />Occasionally the problem goes away, only to return at the worst possible time.<br />I have three suspects. There is a part called the switch box, the stator and something called the trigger.<br />I don’t know the function of any of these other then to get power to the spark plug.<br />Please help!<br /><br />Paul (Bassact)

welcome aboard,<br />sounds like the switchbox to me. pick up a manual<br />for the motor and perform the test proceedure to<br />confirm this before you fork out $ for parts.<br />good luck,<br />M.Y.
