First I want to thakn all who responded to my question about the electrical problem on my trolling motor. It turned out to be a ground problem. I finnally had to pull the foward deck as I was not getting but 3 volts at the plug on foward deck. I started tracing the wiring and found a ground wire to be badly chaffed also the splice of the 3 ground wires was a very bad job. When I removed the electrical tape I also found the area taped with duct tape badly I might add. When I removed this tape the 3 wires were joind together by twisting them together then a very poor job of solidering. I took a magifing glass and look at the splice and could see green corrosin. I have reworked the splices to a terminal strip and secured this so it will not move around. I now have power to the trolling motor. Thanks again for all the great information. I can't wait to be on the boat again.
Tom Harvey

Replacing previous owners' do-it-yourself wiring jobs; one of the primary joys of boatownership! Now you have a heads-up - you can look forward to a pleasant afternoon of rewiring the accessories - I highly recommend getting around to it before the summer really gets cranked up!

:D
