I recently got some water in the engine compartment after launching the boat and finding a leaking drain plug. The engine runs fine, but now a few weird things are happening. The engine will not turn off when I put the key in the off position. Also the fuel gauge doesn't work and I am getting a fuel fault alarm on my smartcraft gauge. All the other gauges work. The switches for the water pump, lights, blower, etc don't work either. Can anyone tie these things together. Im sure its related to a short from having water in the engine compartment, but cant put these symptoms together. Thanks

Welcome to iboats... :welcome:

What all those issues have in common is the electrical connections. That being a positive and ground connections. So instead of trying to tie them all together, take one problem and trace the electrical wiring to the source to see what is going on. I would look at the ground side first. That would be how I would work this situation. Ground connections seems to be a lot of the electrical issues on a lot of boats. Look there first. If you have a meter and know how to use one, time to break out that meter and start taking measurements.. Also clean all terminal connections as you go... JMHO
