I have 2 devices I need to wire to a switch panel, I also have a VHF, CD Player, and a couple other circuits which are hooked directly to power all the time.

What is the best way to hook these things up?

I have a switch panel.

I have the 2 wires from the battery (yes they are fused).

Should I just get 2 terminal blocks and make all my connections that way?

Basically im looking for a good way to organize all my circuits, either with terminal blocks, or some other type of dist. system.

This is a small 15' center console with 1 battery.

Thanks for the ideas.
-John

Re: electrical question

I would install a 6 fuse 6 terminal block. Or maybe even 8. Attach the VHF and everything else to it. All the fuses in one place and everything fused. One hot non-fused wire from the battery to the terminal block. Anything less will be a tangled and confusing mess.

Plan B is to run the violet wire, the one that goes on and off with the ignition, to one small fused terminal block and the always hot red wire to another terminal block.

Re: electrical question

But that one hot wire from the battery should be fused at the battery.

c/6
Hooty

Re: electrical question

Johnshan1 – you are smart to organize the electronics. Btw, if using a single battery on your vessel, you are a candidate for a dual-purpose battery. Cal-MI is right on with his suggestions…so is Hooty with his recommendation for fusing the main power source from the battery. Everything gets fused.
