I have a 50 hp Yamaha from 2006 that is new to me. It works perfectly, but I am just thinking ahead to one day if the oil injection system should fail. Assuming I don't learn about the failure by the sound of the pistons seizing, I could just pour the fuel tank full of oil to a 50:1 premix and go on running...except I am told there are rev limiters that kick in when the oil injector reports it is failing. What can be done to bypass a rev limiting feature? I don't so much care about the alarm, but it would be nice to be able to run at normal speed to get back to the ramp once I know the oil has been added to the gas.

it is gear driven off of the crank shaft so it has to keep turning while the motor is turning.
keep good clean oil in the tank and keep it filled and stop worrying about stuff
