Dear Sirs,
I have a Dusky 25.6 with an optional 50gal fuel tank, the problem is that everytime I use this optional tank the engines RPM goes down like it fuel were not going to the engines. I have tried cleanning the fuel tubes, also I have change the tank cap thinking that vent was the problem. The problem still persist.
If some one could advice me, please do so.

Best Regards
Carlos

You have already identified the problem as a restriction somewhere in the fuel supply. Check pickup in the tank for crud (many have a screen at the end), replace any/all filters and if you have changed any of the fuel lines make sure that the line is of the correct diameter. If that dosen't get it check the pressuer output of the fuel pump. If it is weak it may not be strong enough to suck the fuel from that tank.

Dear SoLittle
Let me explain you what is happening. Every time I use the emergency tank, the engines runs for about 30 minutes or so, an then the RPMs start to fall down. It looks like is the ventilation is bad, but I have change the fuel Tank Cap vent, and the problem still persist. Then in order to check the tank completely I need to take out the whole console, because the emergency tank is incorporated in the console. In other words the engines only uses a 10% of the 50gals. Do you think is something in the fuel lines, something stuck, How can I check that without removing the console?
Please Advice me.

Best regards
Carlos

Carlos - I find it hard to picture where this tank is from your description. If it is in the console you should have access to the fuel line fitting and the pickup tube - as well as the vent and the filler pipe. If so I would pull the pickup tube out of the tank and check for blockage (do the same for the vent). You could also disconnect the fuel line at the tank and at the engine and blow through it checking for an obstruction.

If the tank is under the console you need to check for an access plate. Open and check as above. My 122 gallon tank is under the console. I do have a round access plate on the floor that gives me access to all of the connections.

Also try to loosen the tank cap when you get down to 40 gal.

If you are still in the dark on this and the tank was installed by the factory - - call them and describe your situation.

Howard
