Hi.
I've just bought my first american daycruiser, a 1976 Searay 220 cuddy cabin. Supposedly the engine and outdrive (Merc 5,7 and Alpha One gen II) is 1992 and I was hoping to get this confirmed by you.
How do I determine the gearing of the outdrive?
I will run the boat pretty much as is this season but I'd like to know if there are any special considerations to take, or any must-doo's, before enjoying her. I'll change motor and outdrive oil, spark plugs etc but what more?
Is there a good way of determining the status of pump rotors without disassembly? The engine has two pumps, one fresh and one sea, and the outdrive has one - correct (that's how it looks at least)?
Sorry for the newb questions, I've only had direct shaft drive before
