Engine change with same ignition

I am new to boating so I apologize if this is trivial we are taking our non Vortec engine out of a boat that we bought with a cracked block and replacing it with a newer Vortec engine that we are going to rebuild 2 Marine specs and install my boat is a 1993 and a half according to MerCruiser with a thunderbolt 4 ignition can I just swap that distributor into the newer Vortec style engine thank you very much for your patience

Only the heads make it a vortec. The dizzy doesnt know what heads are on the motor
