I have a volvo penta 200d with a 280 outdrive. The engine is pretty old, although still runs ok. I want to change it for a diesel but still keep the outdrive as it is still in good condition. My question is what diesel engine would fit that type of outdrive? As I am on a pretty tight budget would it be worth considering a converted marinised engine eg Ford transit etc. Wouldn't like to spend money having one fitted to find out it is useless.
