Engine compartment lighting/Subs

I just bought this new larson and am wanting to put some lighting into the engine compartment. I was thinking about getting some of those rope lights that you can cut to length and run them around the top lip of the engine hatch? Was wondering what anyone else has done for this? I wasn't sure if the rope lighting would hold up to the temps in the engine compartment?

Also I was wanting to put in some subs in this winter and would rather not take up the precious room under seats to put them, and was thinking bout putting them in the engine comp. as well, but the more I think about it i'm really starting to wonder if that'll work with all of the heat.

Any suggestions or experiences are greatly appreciated.
