Anyone familiar with eBasic powers' "BPI" series engine couplers? I've done a search here and on the net for info but nothing much seems to show up.

The reason I ask is, the price for their Mercruiser/Ford coupler is around $100.00 bucks less than pretty much everybody else online. Can this be too good to be true? Here's the current price line up...

ebasic power # BPI11510
Price: $159.95

Vs.

GLM/Sierra # 11510
Price: $268.99

Now I'm a firm believer in you get what you pay for, but this is new territory for me and I got to wonder if it's one to actually steer away from or not?

Yeah I tend to agree with you Bubba, but there are many instances in the aftermarket parts world where some brands (maufactures) parts are as good and at times superior to OEM. I'm needing to know if anyone knows anything good or bad about these BPI couplers...or even Sierra's quality compared to OEM for that matter. Looking for any learned advice.

Appreciate that input Bondo. I did email eBasic's customer service asking who makes this coupler and here's what they said...

(Excerpt from my email included)

Inquiry:

...needing to know what brand this engine coupler is
BPI11510/Engine+Coupler,+Mercruiser,+Ford

(link removed)

It doesn't seem to say who makes it on your website.

Thank you.

Well, I didn't get the manufacture name that I was hoping for, but I think based on his reply I'm willing to become a guinea pig and test one out behind a fresh Merc 888 in a 1974 2550 Binliner Saratoga w/ MC1. I will most likely run it with "some fear" Bondo...and will report back should I smell any burning rubber at launch time.
