I have an Engine Cover from a 1984 Chris Craft Scorpion that needs re-upholstering.

Went to upholstery shop and they want $500-600 to have it done.

This is almost half what I paid for the boat, so I decided to tackle it myself.

I know I need Marine grade vinyl, most of the foam is still there. Is it possible to cover without having to stitch?

Any helpful hints or suggestions appreciated.

Thanx :)

That really is not that hard to do. You could get a Heavy duty Sewing Machine online for under $100 bucks and sew a new cover for that for under $50 bucks worth of Marine Vinyl.

I got a Morse like this one for $75 on Craigslist

and got all my Vinyl and Sewing thread and supplies from this guy...
items in Trimjobber Canvas Vinyl and Fabric store on eBay!

I had never sewn anything in my life but with the help of guys here on the forum I was able to reupholster my entire boat. Here's a link to see some of what I did...
