got a few answers in a thread last year but cant find it when searching. I have removed all old pieces of rubber seal on engine cover,this seal is discontinued at most outboard store. Does anyone know of someone who can help me get this seal?
go to a windscreen fitter, they will match up what you want.
its a very common type of seal your after, might not be common in marine shops but very common on cars and trucks.
some door seals on cars are good too !!

I had the exact same problem when I recently rebuilt my 1976 Johnson 40HP engine. It was listed but was always NLA. So I looked and looked before somebody told me that a newer model engine (Johnson as well) used the exact same profile that my OB used, but was cut longer for the bigger HP engine cowling size. And it was even priced lower too then the original old price that was no longer available. So I bought the newer cowling gasket/seal and had to cut about 4" off of it. But it was the exact same gasket/seal mine took... Just an idea for you to research...
