Engine cuts out when I tap on the gas

Hey guys, this may have been put up here before, but I have to figure it out and am going bonkers. My Volvo AQ125 keeps cutting out when I push down on some gas, and this is what I have done and have been doing: Timing was recently tuned, and carb rebuilt. I have fiddled endlessly with the idle, and even turned the dist. cap to see if the timing was off a little. This has to be a fuel issue and I am going nuts trying to figure this out. Thank you very much for anybody interested in helping me!

welcome aboard

you have a carb issue. time to pull the carb apart, go thru it and clean it. specifically the accelerator pump circuit.

Thank you for the fast response guys, i took the carb off and looked at the pump, it is totally fine...i had the idle set where the engine was running best, but it likes to die right away when i give it gas, actually now, it stalls after just about 10-15 seconds of idle, as soon as the gas runs through it...this is damn annoying

dying when you give it gas is the accelerator circuit not pumping fuel.

stalling after 15 minutes is the bowl running dry from improper float setting.

go back to the carb.

I second the Accelerator Pump. As for the stalling, might be a low fuel level, or a flow problem to the carb.

How long have you had this boat/motor? I will assume you are in the Northern Hemisphere. What was done to prepare it for storage last fall?
