My roommate took out the boat on Saturday and was doing great tubbing, skiing, etc. Then all of the sudden it started to die when at WOT. He could get it to run at idle and just above, but anytime he tried to do more it died. He replaced the plugs and fuel filter and that seemed to help some (he could get about 30 to 60 seconds of WOT before it would sputter).
So, he took off the Carb and I ordered a carb kit and we have someone rebuilding it for us. It's being cleaned, etc.
Does that sound like it could be the problem? I hope? I called a bunch of different boat mechanics and the majority told me that it sounded like the Carb...I hope it is because its a holiday weekend and I'm looking forward to being out on the lake with all of the other morons!!
Oh, as for the roommate taking the boat - he's more experienced with them than I am - so I trust him completely. Plus, he is paying me an extra $50 a month in rent to help pay for the boat! d
and he is also paying for all of the repairs to get it back on the water.
Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated?
