Okay folks I will do my best.

1989 Sea Ray 200 Br I/O
V8
Perko Switch
2 Deep Cycle Batteries fully Charged

Won't start.

I have power to:

- trim (seperate red lead from main)
- part of the switch board powered
- blower works
- horn works
- windshield wipers work
- nav lights
- pump works

- accessories do not work
- nothing happens when I turn the key
- gauges don't twitch

Here is the issue that I know of: Battery one was connected reverse polarity. Upon turning perko switch to batt 1, I saw smoke from battery terminal and immediately turned off and saw the issue. I have cleaned all connections and checked for burnt wires...none of the major wires large leads are burnt. If I am correct the ignition and the helm switch board are all powered off of the common wire. I am confused why there is partial power. I have my multimeter out but don't know where to start looking. Please advise.

Look for the 20 amp fuse under the helm, it comes in on a red/purple wire going to the ignition switch

AllDodge thanks for the quick response. I looked under the helm. I do not see any inline fuse other than ones that go to stereo and ship to shore. I attached a pic of the back side of the switch from behind helm.

Whoever uses Scothloc connectors on boats or anywhere else for that matter needs to be shot.

Measure the voltage at that red wire and see what you get.

You should have a purple wire that will have voltage when the key is on.

If you don't have voltage at the red, follow it. Should go to your fuse panel.

Well I found the blown fuses. One in the stereo and one by following the wires. New problem...oil is by the exhaust/prop, and it appears to be overheating. Ran it at 1500 rpms on muffs and it wanted to stay at temp halfway b/n 145 and 220.
