Hello all,

After an extensive rebuild of most parts of my 1961 Johnson Outboard 40 H.P. I took it camping with me for 10 days. I started it, and it ran beautifully, trolled all day with it and the quit. Went to take the kids out with the wife and the motor would not start at all. Pulled the plugs and they were wet.

Dried them off and put them back in and the motor started right up. Drove for a while and shut the motor off, went to turn it back on and again the plugs were wet, dried them off and bingo it started well. So how do I fix this problem...

Thanks ion advance for your help.

Rebuild the carb. The needle and seat is apparently sticking open allowing excess fuel to flow into the engine or the float is binding or sunk.
