I am still reading, learning and gathering the parts and supplies for my first winterization this year. I have a '97 4.3 motor with the 2bl carb and electric fuel pump. My question is about the fuel supply while fogging. It seems from reading it is recommended to disconnect or shut off the fuel supply when you introduce the fogging oil into the carb. I can't find any sort of disconnect valve within the fuel lines on my motor. If i disconnect the fuel line from the carb, I am assuming the electric fuel pump will continue to pump fuel.
Would "capping" the fuel line damage the fuel pump that would still be trying to pump fuel?
Would I be better off just leaving the fuel supply connected or maybe I should try to kill the power to the fuel pump?
Is the best solution just to leave the fuel supply alone and just fog with oil?
Sorry for the probably stupid questions...I'm still trying to learn as I go. Thanks in advanced for any insights.
