Engine going back in this weekend NEED ADVICE !

Hi guy's
My resto is almost done !!
The outdrive is on ( Cobra )
I am planning on putting the engine ( 4.3 OMC ) this weekend
How do I ensure that the transom plate ,outdrive and engine shaft is aligned ?
I noticed that I have some adjustment points with the transom plate and also with the engine mount
the boat is an 18 feet avanti industries bowrider
the bell housing ?? is still on the engine

Any tips for me

I have attached a very brutal drawing of what it looks like

I have not done it myself, I do not own any outdrives. I have however seen it done with a special tool. Also the engine was already in and then the outdrive was installed after it. I know this is no real help, but you may have to have an alignment tool to do it.:redface:

Pull the outdrive back off and install engine.Then use alignment tool,can find for about 50 bucks on ebay youll be glad you did.And money ahead

Since the Volvo SX drive uses the same kind of gimbal housing and inner transom shield, below is a link to the Volvo SX drive manual.
Go to pages 48 and 49 on how to install the inner transom shield.
