Engine Hot Light

Is there any sure fire easy way to check the engine hot light? I'm just worried that the bulb may be dead or not, or that the connections from the engine to it may not be connected.<br /><br />BTW: Engine is a 1966 80HP Johnson Electromatic<br /><br />Thanks

Heat the sensor (area) with a small propane torch

Try unplugging the engine heat sensor and grounding it, I believe that would turn on your warning light.
