Ayuh,... How 'bout a Picture or some other Hints....
Not all of Us have access to the serial # listings, unless You'd care to sift through the listings in the manuals...
Or you can just Wait,+ Hope 1 of the currently employed Merc. Techs might happen to find this post...
Merc does keep records of SN's, however, they don't go back that far.
The only 4 cylinder engines back then were the GM 120 or 140 engine.
The 140's had a harmonic balancer on the front of the crankshaft and the 120 had only a pulley.
If you Click Here, you can download the OEM service manual for free. You need manual #1. There will be pictures and specs to help you determine which engine you have.
Ayuh,... It appears to be all original, the drive is an MC-1...
Your pictures are too small to see whether there's a harmonic balancer, or just a pulley on the front of the motor...
iboat's pictures posting guidelines are to size to 480x640...
No just the 2 red ones their from the remote starter button. Was work on the tilt/trim unit. It will go down but won't come up. No fluid flowing on the up side. Is it o.k. to use an electric fuel pump on an inboard engine??
Well figured out I have a "140" 4-cylinder. My unit(boat) has an external voltage regulator. According to the manual only the 140 has this. Got it running earlier on muffs. First time it breathed fire in 10 years. Sounds better then my 75 horse Jonnyrude on the boat. Thanks for the help. HELP is always excepted with gratitude.
