Engine ID?

This is the S# on my mercruiser motor D845305.n It is a 4 CYL. When I try to finds parts I cant seem to find this #. Does anyone know if this is a viable # for looking up parts? Thanks.

It's a 1993 3.0L engine. Model # 430B100FS
Yes, that number is used to look up OEM parts. Even if you want to use after market parts, it's best to find the OEM number first and make sure the after market parts cross to it. Just assures you that you get the right part the first time.

Here is one site I use for OEM numbers, there are many. Just find the year to start with, then make sure of the serial number range.
