Pulled my '92 4.3LX last week to replace the leaking exhaust seal. Hopefully dropping the motor back in a few days. Was wondering on the rear mounting can you reuse the double wound lock washer and fiber washer? Does anyone know the part number, cant find it on marineengine.com BOMs.

I honestly dont recall them being on there when I removed the engine.

Yep. Double wound washers completely reusable... Many many times... And if your alignment was good, they'd have been there.

I've reused both part on two engine re installations and had no problems getting the alignment bar to pass. But this was with new rear engine mounts, which I recommend since you have rare access to 26 yr old mounts.
Fiber washer 12-32834
Lock washer 13-33734
Mount kit (all parts) 8M0103028 or 865329A02

Be sure to tape the mount bolt lock nut into it's pocket in the transom plate before you reinstall.

I think I found them....where still in place on the hull mounts in the boat. Anything I should look for to see if I have to replace either of those parts. Rear bolts felt like they were over-torqued versus the spec of 35-40 Ft-Lbm, but maybe they were just stuck...dont' think the engine has ever been pulled on this '92. Thanks in advance for all the advice.

I use contact cement to stick the fiber washers in place on the transom plate to prevent them from getting displaced while trying to jiggle the engine in place on the hoist. Again, I suggest changing those old rear mounts while your engine is out.

You can rig up a push rig with a 7" long piece of 7/16" all thread rod, a 1/2" drive socket large enough to swallow the mount. This will be the receiver. Another socket just large enough to fit through the top of the flywheel hsg. mount hole as the pusher. When you push the new mounts in, put the large receiver socket on top, and use a third socket, just a bit smaller than the OD of the mount as the pusher.
