Hey guys.. Making progress.
Couple of weeks ago, the coupler stripped out when I was getting on plane.
I was able to get an Engine Lift for $40 on CL.. Somehow made it work and clear the back of the Baja (air out of tires helped!). Engine is out and I am painting a few things and cleaning up some wiring. I noticed the Port side mount has a gap in it. Looks like one of the two nuts backed off and now there is a 3/8" gap between the two height adjustment nuts.
Stringers feel solid.. see a little dark wood..but have nice grip on the bolts and they need a socket to tighten (Boats a 97)
This in conjuntion to some water in the bilge (Bilge pump burned out and i got stuck in a mild Hurricane while docked) probobly toasted the coupler.
Question is: Should I get new mounts, or just clean up what I have? Locktite them? Not sure what nut moved, but no doubt alignment is going to be a pain now. Is this common on the OEM mounts?
Thanks,
Joe
