Hi,

I have a problem with my 5.7L engine carb, it's thermostat has an issue and I need I solution please.

First, I installed a new thermostat and when I turn it on for 5 minutes it started to overheat and beeping alarm started.

Then, I removed the thermostat and run it,then it was working fine and no issue except it has some vibration when it start only then it comes to normal.

I have opened the manifolds and clean them properly and placed new gaskets, hoses, exhaust butterfly.

I think it is the solution but I discovered that with out the thermostat I found some condensation on the carebrator but it still works fine.

Can any body tells me if it okay to keep the engine without thermostat?

My country weather is similar to Miami, Florida.

My Drive is new, SE116 just installed,

My engine is 1999 model MErcruiser 5.7 carebrator.

Which impeller you mean to change?

Water Pump is also new part.

Yes, I agree with Bond-o . . . it is probably not a thermostat issue, but running without it is just enough extra flow through the engine to keep things cool. It is better to find out the real problem, because they usually do not improve by themselves, and only get worse.

Impeller, clogged intake, if you have an oil cooler, that is usually a source of clogs that can come and go. So, those are a few things to check in order to find the issue.

Did you have this overheat problem before you changed the drive? How long has the drive been on there? Perhaps the impeller went bad when a plastic bag got over the intakes. Happens quite often.
