I'm on vacation and Johnson 115 (1985) has been running great. Tonight while running at about 25 it just quit. Gas is full, bulb is hard. Any ideas or suggestions?

Thank you...John

The fuel bulb should not be hard. The only time it should be hard is when you pump it up each morning before you start is cold the first time. Once the engine starts running and the pump draws fuel through the system, the bulb will soften somewhat-but should not collapse on itself. That's normal. A hard bulb may be an indication that the ball valves inside the bulb are not working properly and could be causing a fuel restriction.

This morning it started then died. Therefore it has spark. Gas is going into the engine.

Did you check for spark after it died. A faulty electrical connecting that opens when it gets hot could cause intermittent issues.

think if I was on vacation when that happened, I would just replace the hose, bulb and connectors -- must be a Walmart around or a local shop. Make sure the gas is fresh, oil mix correct, tank vent open. Like emdsapmgr says, likely check valve or similar.
