engine loses power after 5 minutes

I just bought a boat with a 1994 90 hp 3 cyl.<br />it runs fine for 5 minutes then throttles back to 3000 rpm.I read about the fuel pump rebuild is this the same fix for my outboard?

A pinhole in the fuel pump diaphram would cause a problem like yours. Kits are inexpensive and fairly easy to install.

Pump the fuel primer bulb when this happens and see if it speeds back up. That would point to a pump problem or possible carb problems. Also, hit the choke real quick and see if it starts to die out. It should. And make sure your fuel tank vent is clear and open.
