I have an '84 35HP 2 cylinder. Just got it and new to outboards. I know this is a 2 cycle engine that runs on a premix fuel, but is there other engine lubrication I need to maintain? Any filters or other engine oils that needs changing?

Thanks

You really need an Owner's Manual, mchristo.

It will answer all of your questions plus tell you things you didn't know and didn't ask about.

Check your Merc Dealer.

Good luck. :)

As JB said get a manual on the engine. You can also get a Seloc or Chilton manual on that motor. The only lubrication for the power head on a two cycle is the oil you put in the fuel. The only filter on that motor is the fuel filter located on the fuel line that hooks up to the fuel pump.

You need to maintain the lower unit lubrication. The steps for this will be in your manual, but at the least drain it to check for water or other contamination and fill it with fresh lower unit lube.
